U.N. ENVOY WARNS U.S. OF POSSIBLE DEFEAT IN AFGHANISTAN

This report is not surprising to a blogger like myself who has been reporting on the Afghanistan War since it started.

The United States is in way over their head in Afghanistan and no amount of troops is going to save the mission.

The Taliban have shown they have the know-how and the strength to defeat the United States and the countries that are supposed to be fighting alongside of our troops have virtually abandoned Afghanistan.

Here is the latest report from a U.N. envoy to Afghanistan:

Jan. 7 (Bloomberg) -- U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan and the government of President Hamid Karzai face defeat by the Taliban unless “negative trends” are reversed soon, Kai Eide, who steps down in March as United Nations envoy in Kabul, told the UN Security Council yesterday, the Financial Times reported.

Eide said he’s concerned about increasing public impatience with the Afghan involvement in the countries that have sent troops, the frustration of Afghans whose expectations have been disappointed and the increasingly assertive insurgency, the newspaper reported.
