GATES: TOO FEW IN THE U.S. BEAR THE BURDEN OF THE WARS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN

This blogger has been been blogging about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for over two years and I concur completely with Secretary of Defense Gates.

Most people in the United States have a little or no interest in the wars even though we have over 200,000 young Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

My blog has attracted over 690,000 visitors in the past two years, but most of them are vets, service people and the families of those in the military.

It is my opinion a military draft would change all this in a heartbeat.

It is not right that we keep sending the same troops back to Iraq or Afghanistan for their third or fourth tour.
