Jamie Leigh Jones, an employee of Halliburton/KBR in Iraq, describes how she was gang-raped by co-workers of the contracting firm in Iraq. Former Vice President Dick Cheney was once CEO of Halliburton and was instrumental in the firm landing lucrative contracts in the rebuilding of Iraq after U.S. forces destroyed much of Iraq.

In this video, Jones describes how she was held in a cell for 24-hours and repeatedly gang-raped and had to undergo reconstructive surgery and is still under treatment for the injuries she sustained during the gang rape.

Jones is interviewed in this video by Dan Abrams of MSNBC News.

KABUL (AP) — The U.S. military said Wednesday six American troops were killed in Afghanistan, as militants killed six election workers amid growing fears on the eve of the presidential election that insurgents would mar the vote.

Two troops were killed in gunfire in the south on Wednesday, the U.S. military said, while a third was killed in an unspecified hostile attack. The U.S. also said a roadside bomb Tuesday in the south killed two troops, while another died of noncombat-related injuries. No other details were released.

BACKGROUND: Gunfire erupts ahead of presidential vote

The deaths bring to at least 32 the number of American troops killed in the country this month, a record pace. Forty-four U.S. troops died in Afghanistan last month, the deadliest month of the eight-year war.

Attacks in the countryside killed six election workers, officials said Wednesday, one day before Afghanistan decides whether President Hamid Karzai deserves a second five-year term. In Kabul, three Taliban militants took over a bank, and gunfire and small explosions reverberated throughout the capital. Police stormed the bank and killed the three militants.

The drumbeat of attacks would appear to signal the intent of Taliban insurgents and their militant allies to disrupt Thursday's vote.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi police and medical officials say that a series of explosions have struck Baghdad, killing at least 75 people and wounding nearly 300 others.

The attacks in the Iraqi capital started shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, striking near first near the finance ministry in northern Baghdad and then minutes later, near the foreign ministry next to the heavily fortified Green Zone.

The officials say the deadliest blast was a car bomb explosion near the foreign ministry, which killed dozens and wounded hundreds. The officials say the toll is expected to climb.

They say five other explosions, mostly from car bombs, tore through Baghdad, killing at least eight people and wounding dozens more.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
