The terrain is different and it was 50 years ago, but this blogger was a "sapper" (an Army Combat Engineer) and this is what we did during the Korean War.
What you see in this video is "sappers" from the 82nd Airborne blowing the hell out of things in Afghanistan.
That is what "sappers" do.
