WHY OBAMA SHOULDN'T BE BOXED IN BY HIS WAR ZONE COMMANDERS

President Obama is facing a crisis and it isn't health care reform.

Obama's war zone commanders are attempting to box him and force him to send more troops to Afghanistan.

The link below gives a strong argument why Obama should not listen to the commanders or the Republicans who want to hang the Afghanistan war on his shoulders.

Here is the link: http://www.alternet.org/world/142826/why_president_obama_can%27t_let_himself_be_blackmailed_by_his_generals/

There is also another reason why Obama should resist sending more troops to Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan war is a "no win" situation because the country is split in scores of tribal units and not one tribal group would represent the whole country in signing some kind of armistice.

This is not like WW2 where Gen. MacArthur met on the battleship Missouri with representatives from Japan to sign an unconditional surrender.

Also, Al Qaeda, which was the reason we invaded Afghanistan almost eight years ago, are no longer in Afghanistan and have fled across the border into Pakistan so defeating the Taliban and all the tribal groups would be a worthless exercise in blood loss on both sides.

Al-Qaeda, Cork? Try Al-CIA-da. That's one of the main reasons I'm against this war.

Thanks for writing. I agree. There is no exit plan and no plan as to why we are in either Iraq or Afghanistan.
