IRAQ IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN. COUNT THE NUMBER OF ATTACKS SINCE JANUARY 1


There is such an increase in attacks in Iraq that no longer is it safe for Iraqi civilians to walk the streets of Baghdad and other Iraqi cities.

The much heralded "surge" was a Bush administration myth to begin with and now with the increased attacks it is apparent nothing was really gained by the "surge."

The following is a list of attacks in Iraq since January 1, 2009:

- April 24 - Back-to-back suicide bombers strike near Shiite shrine in Baghdad, killing 60.
- April 23 - Baghdad suicide bomber hits Iraqis collecting humanitarian aid, killing 31.
- April 23 - Suicide bomber strikes restaurant north of Baghdad in Muqdadiyah, killing 57.
