A sniper fires and hits one Marine from a balcony next to a cemetery until the Marines call for a tank to fire on the hotel destroying the hotel and killing the sniper.

The sniper wasn't killed, the marine who was there said it himself. After the tanks started blasting the sniper just "went away".
