WHY IS VIOLENCE SURGING IN IRAQ?

The "Arab Spring" might have been a too geopolitically limiting term. Given that some political pundits have recently cited that the Royal House of Saud - the holiest center of the Sunni Muslim world - is going the way of the former Soviet Union due to political infighting, violence in the wider Islamic world like that in Iraq would become the norm, rather than the exception. Also the Shiah Prime Minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki is running Iraq like a Shia thug inspiring local Al Qaeda affiliates in Iraq to resort to acts of terror.
Ringo....Excellent comment. IMO Iraq bears watching very, very closely. It is situations like this that have a way of creeping up on us and the next thing you know we are in an all out war again. Nouri al-Maliki is a scoundrel and shouldn't be trusted.

Pentagon spending lots of money selling arms to Iraq. IMO this is dangerous and stupid.

Any thoughts? Most of the articles I have read focus on the benefits of Ms. James being a woman, but she is an executive for a defense contractor. I may be out of my league but I thought this was scary.

Jo, I don't like it. It smells bad. She will be in a position to sign contracts which could benefit her company. That stinks.
Jo, The jailbreaks are all part of Iraq falling apart again. These people have been fighting each other for thousands of years dating back to the Ottoman Empire. What makes anyone think they would stop now?
