MSNBC's Rachel Maddow presented the first of her two-part series on the war in Afghanistan Tuesday night.

Rachel Maddow, who hosts the "Rachel Maddow Show," on MSNBC is embedded with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan and in this video report from the "Today Show" Maddow explains how U.S. troops are working tirelessly to help the people of Kandahar, Afghanistan establish their own governance.

Maddow will devote her Tuesday and Wednesday night shows, MSNBC 9 PM, EST, to her reports from Kandahar, Afghanistan.

U.S./NATO TROOPS HAVING DIFFICULTY SECURING MARJAH AFGHANISTAN

This video reports on the difficulty allied troops are having in securing Marjah, Afghanistan.

It is expected it will take a couple of more months to bring about order to the region.
