Thank you for posting.
I read about this at the Long Wars journal which contains a link to a NYT story as well, I was surprised.

I have a cousin in Astan, I follow daily. Read about you in the At War blog at NYT.
I find the lack of attention paid to the war to be intolerable.

Thanks Jo. After writing that piece for the New York Times At War blog, I have decided to keep the blog going because I received so many letters from people asking me to reconsider and to keep posting about the war because they never read or hear anything about the war in the mainstream media. Best of luck to you and your cousin in Astan and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bill
Bill I'm so happy to hear that!!!!!!
I was so happy to see your coverage of the attack over the weekend at Jalalabad.
We just can't let the sun go down on our people over there. Not on my watch. So I will be keeping watch with you and all who read here.
We just lost one of our own in Grand Rapids, Army Spc. Zachary Shanafelt, combat medic, who served five months at Combat Outpost Qaisar in Fariyab Province. He was injured in an accident there last year and spent time at Walter Reed in the Wounded Warriors program. He passed at Walter Reed on Nov. 21, 2012.
There is a nice remembrance at Freedom Remembered.
Hi Jo T....So sorry to hear about Army Spc Zachary Shanafelt. My prayers go out to his family. Thanks again for your encouragement. Bill
