The term "Forgotten War" is getting more and more an apt description of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan given that Osama Bin Laden is already "history". Will "diplomacy" be the next front? Too much money and lives have been invested for the American involvement in Afghanistan to turn it - hopefully - better for the war to be simply forgotten.
Hi Mischa: I was in the Army during another "forgotten war"--the Korean War. You probably know this, however there has never been an armistice signed for the Korean War and hostilities ended in 1953. We are facing the same problem in Afghanistan the Russians and British found. After 10 years of war, Russia just gave up and pulled out. That is what I think we should do. Thanks for your comment. Bill
