It is more than 50 years later since this blogger served as corporal with the United States Army Combat Engineers, but nothing much has changed for the men who serve in the United States Army Combat Engineers. Our job was to clear mine fields, build bridges, roads and airfields and in general support the infantry during the Korean War. In this video, you see a U.S. Army Combat Engineer unit doing pretty much the same thing. It's a dangerous job because you are working with explosives much of the time, and other times you are trying to build bridges so the infantry and armored units can cross a river. The Combat Engineers are known as "Sappers" and their motto is "Let Us Try."
