Cork, I saw it. My take is like this: THEY SHOULD RUN, NOT WALK, TO THE NEAREST ANTI-WAR GROUP AND JOIN. The saddest one was the big Kentucky gal because it seems that she had no one to really talk to. Her uncle, I believe, told her not to talk about it (or that's what I got out of it)but I don't know if that's really good advice. Sgt. Ranie made the most sense, as she said, "I wonder what I'D do if someone came around breaking down MY doors?" Hope she turns against it. Trouble is, too many people come back and are STILL gung-ho. It's fucked up, all around the board. Trouble is, a lot of folks get "the guilties" once they're out of the war due to the esprit de corps drummed in. Very few cut it loose.And even worse, the media drums it up in some pro-war presentations. It's all a losing proposition.
Make that SPECIALIST Ranie. Sorry.
Anonymous: Thanks for writing. In keeping with what you wrote, there is a new report out today about how the suicide rate for returning vets is the highest it has ever been. These men and women need help and they are not getting it. Hopefully that will change under the Obama administrtion.

And that's another reason, Cork, why I say that the "Hoorahing" in some of the clips shown on your blog give off a mixed message. Some of the young, dumb and full of come (or eggs) guys and gals see these vids and say "Yeah! Let's go!" "I wanna be part of something bigger than myself (yeah-ACRES bigger--a graveyard!)!!" "Kick some terrorist ass!" But I see nothing much to be proud of--We've become the world bully since the 50's, and every war of empire creates MORE terrorists. The troops are the victims, as well as civilians. WE CAN'T DO THIS FOREVER! How are we going to take over the world when our economy is failing, our infrastructure is deteriorating from within?? But yet the gov't is still trying to do so, and most of the people are still duped.
Anonymous: I know what you're saying about the videos, but the reason I post them is because the media doesn't cover the wars anymore and because my blog receives about 1,000 "hits" or page visits a day I can tell a lot of the people checking out the blog are intersted in what is going on in Iraq and Afghanistan where a relative is depoloyed.
