25 KILLED IN TWIN SUICIDE BOMBINGS IN BAGHDAD

President-elect Barack Obama will face an increasingly unstable Iraq as witnessed by the twin suicide bombings on Monday, November 10 which killed 25 people and injured another 50 in Baghdad.

At least 25 people have been killed and almost 50 wounded in a double bombing in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The attacks happened in a market in a Sunni district.

The attackers set off a car bomb in Adhamiyah, then a suicide bomber ran into the resulting melee.

An interior ministry official said 48 were wounded.

Witnesses said the attack took place on a street lined with restaurants as a bus carrying children to a school drove past.

Adhamiyah, which is tucked into the mostly Shia eastern half of the city, saw fierce clashes at the height of Iraq's sectarian violence but there has been a sharp reduction in attacks there over the last year.
