Susan Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, was dispatched by the Obama White House  to Sunday morning TV talk shows right after the attack on the Benghazi, Libya compound which killed the US Ambassador and three other Americans.

In this news report and video, Rice explains for the first time how she was only following what had been declassified by the CIA, other intelligence agencies and the White House.

Fox News and Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsay Graham have unleashed a brutal attack on Rice which she calls completely "unfounded."

Rice is being considered for the job of Secretary of  State when Hillary Clinton steps down in the next month or two. 

McCain said Rice was not smart enough for the job and yet Rice graduated with honors from Stanford University and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and received her Phd in political science from Oxford University.

It is worthy to note McCain is the same person who named Sarah Palin as his Vice President candidate in the 2004 campaign based on the fact Palin said she could see Russia from her front porch.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell are beating FOX NEWS' Sean Hannity and Greta Van Sustern in two crucial primetime slots and the margin continues to widen.

Fox News has ruled the roost for about ten years, but all their BS and constant lies and fabrications appear to be catching up to them.

A Pew Research poll released several months ago said people who get their news from FOX NEWS are less informed than people who don't watch any news at all. 

FOX NEWS is known among media insiders as the "gloom and doom" network because they are constantly painting a picture of the United States on the brink of collapse. 

In recent weeks, FOX NEWS has been on a Benghazi binge trying to pin the deaths of four American at the compound in Benghazi, Libya on President Clinton. 

To substantiate the claim that Obama was to blame for the Benghazi attack, FOX NEWS has resorted to taking news reports from mainstream media outlets and editing them to fit the FOX NEWS scenario that President Obama screwed up and didn't provide security before that attack.

FOX NEWS conveniently omits the point that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted down anymore funding for not only the U.S. installations in Libya but the 290 U.S. embassies and installations all around the world.

More recently FOX NEWS has been on a vendetta aimed at U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice over the CIA "talking points" she presented to five TV networks three days after the Benghazi, Libya attack. 

Rice presented unclassifed "talking points" to the American public through her five TV appearances after the CIA and nine other intelligence agencies and the White House had scrubbed any classified material so terrorist elements in the Middle East would not know the United States had information on them. 

FOX NEWS is beating a "dead horse" on the Benghazi conspiracy they dreamed up and apparently the American public has caught on to the FOX NEWS lies and has left the right-wing so-called media organization with their TV ratings plummeting.

Congressional House Republicans proved beyond a shadow of a doubt they are the scum of the earth in the way they have attacked U.S. Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice.

Rice, who is a graduate of Stanford University, a Rhodes Scholar and who earned a Phd from Oxford University, was said to be too dumb for the job of Secretary of State by Republican Senator John McCain.

Many in the Democratic party think the attack on Susan Rice is racially movtivated.  She is an African American like Attorney General Eric Holder, Special White House Assistant Valerie Jarrett and, of course, President Obama who have all been the victims of "dog whistles" and "code words" used by Angry White Male Republicans who put on public display their racism on a daily basis.

SUSAN RICE: FACTS VS FOX NEWS FICTION

SUSAN RICE, who graduated with honors from Stanford University and was awarded a Rhodes scholarship and then went on to get her Phd from Oxford University and is currently US Ambassador to the UN, has been the subject of a sustained attack by FOX NEWS and Republicans over the "talking points" she presented on the Benghazi, Libya attack on a US compound.

Rice appeared on five network TV shows two days after the September 11, 2012 attack and repeated the "talking points" approved by the CIA and the White House on what they knew at the time about the attack that claimed four American lives.

FOX NEWS and some GOP lawmakers have been ruthless in their attacks on Rice and in the case of FOX NEWS they have taken her words and totally twisted them around so they don't even come close to what she said on television.

Rice is being considered by President Obama for the job of Secretary of State when Hillary Clinton steps down from the post.

FOX NEWS and Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives are desperately attempting to undermine the Rice nomination and have even gone so far as to write a letter to President Obama demanding he not nominate Rice for the Secretary of State job.

What FOX NEWS and other right wing media are not telling the public is the United States Senate has the final word on Presidential nominations and the House of Representatives are not involved in the process.

The United States Senate is controlled by Democrats and it is expected they would approve President Obama's nomination of Susan Rice for Secretary of State.

As Congress continues to probe the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the conversation seems to be gradually shifting from a hothouse hunt for the scalp of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to larger questions about the security breakdown itself. Buzzfeed's John Stanton sussed out that a shift seemed imminent at the end of last week, and while Sunday's political talk shows featured Rice's betes-noires -- Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham -- there was a sense that cooler heads were taking over.

Most notably, McCain amigo Sen. Joe Lieberman made it clear to Fox News' Chris Wallace that he wasn't all that interested in pursuing the Susan Rice agita much further:

As I look at what we now know the intelligence community was saying that week -- and I look at Ambassador Rice's statements on television on the following Sunday morning, I don't find anything inconsistent between those two. But, I must tell you that I think we are focusing on questions that are not insignificant but they are not the most significant. Of course, there was a terrorist attack. Whether or not there was a protest before it is interesting, but not that critical to me. There was a terrorist attack and the question is: who did it?

All of which is eminently sensible. As it happens, however, Lieberman's approach hasn't yet caught on with everybody. In fact, as Pete Kasperowicz reports over at The Hill, several lawmakers have drawn up a strongly worded letter to President Barack Obama, insisting that he not nominate Rice to be Secretary of State:

In a letter to Obama, the 97 Republicans said the credibility of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has been gravely wounded by her account of the September 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The letter says Rice "propagated a falsehood" that the attacks were a spontaneous response to a video that depicted the Prophet Muhammed. The administration then said more than a week later that terrorism may have played a role.
"Ambassador Rice is widely viewed as having either willfully or incompetently misled the American public in the Benghazi matter," it says. "Her actions plausibly give U.S. allies (and rivals) abroad reason to question U.S. commitment and credibility when needed.

There's a few reasons that Obama won't sweat this. One is that the GOP caucus could only find 97 members to go along with this letter. Another is that members of the House of Representatives don't have anything to do with confirming the U.S. Secretary of State.

The third is though you can read this story and see that Kasperowitz writes, "the House Republican letter mirrors some of the Senate Republican criticism of Rice that has emerged," the only cited examples of "Senate Republican critics" are McCain and Graham. You can probably add Sen. Kelly Ayotte to their folie a deux, but that trio represents the Susan Rice Dead Ender Caucus.

Meanwhile, here's a key quote about Rice's potential nomination to head the State Department, criticizing all of the bitterness being thrown her way just because she made public assertions that didn't turn out to be correct:

So I wonder why we are starting this new Congress with a protracted debate about a foregone conclusion… . I can only conclude we are doing this for no other reason than lingering bitterness at the outcome of the elections… . We all have varying policy views, but the President, in my view, has a clear right to put in place the team he believed would serve him best.

Of course, in the case of the above quote, the year was 2005, the "Rice" was Condoleezza, the incorrect assertions were that Saddam Hussein's regime had weapons of mass destruction, and the defender ... was John McCain.

GIVE IT UP

Republicans should give up their ridiculous attempt at trying to find out who changed a couple of words in "talking points" Susan Rice told five TV networks on the Benghazi attack.

Nobody went bonkers when Bush and Cheney lied about WMDs and nukes in Iraq and then sent young Americans to war in Iraq that cost the lives of 4,700 young Americans not four Americans like in Libya.

The same goes for when nearly 200 US Marines were killed in 1983 after a car bomb went off outside the Marine Barracks in Lebanon when Ronald Reagan was President

Nobody tried to launch an investigation of FDR after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 killing over 2,500 Americans and led to the United States entering World War II where over 200,000 young Americans were killed.

President Harry Truman sent a small force of "peace keepers" into Korea in 1950 in what was called a "police action" but quickly escalated into an all out war that led to over 33,000 Americans killed before it ended in 1953, however an investigation was never launched.

John F. Kennedy sent a small force into Vietnam in 1960 which eventually led to a full-scale war with North Vietnam that cost the lives of 58,000 young Americans and nobody called for an investigation.

But 4 people were killed in Benghazi, Libya and the Republicans have gone totally bonkers in an attempt to pin their deaths on President Obama and are even calling for a Special Prosecutor to bring Obama up on impeachment charges.

Republicans should learn their history before they continue to make asses of themselves over the deaths of 4 Americans in Benghazi, Libya.

Attacks on US-led troops are rapidly rising in Afghanistan. But it is mostly Afghan security forces who target them-not the Taliban alone. These attacks are known as Green on Blue.




But they were killed for different reasons. They say they turned their weapons on US-led forces either because of combat stress or disrespect to Islamic values by foreign troops. These attacks have jumped, especially after the burning of the Holy Quran by American forces in Bagram Air Base this year.



Green on blue attacks have greatly affected that relations between Afghan forces and US-led troops too. They do not trust each other very much now. US forces have stepped up security around and inside their bases. Most joint military compounds have also been separated. And both US and Afghan government seem worried about this trend.

PETRAEUS BLOWS A HOLE IN GOP CONSPIRACY THEORY ON BENGHAZI ATTACK

For the record, I had a security clearance to handle classified material when I was in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

I was investigated by the FBI before the security clearance was issued to me. 

David Petraeus appeared Friday before the Congressional committee looking into what happened in Benghazi, Libya when four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, were killed.

Petraeus made it clear that the sensitive material on the Benghazi raid by terrorists aligned with Al Qaeda went through a checking process to make sure nothing in the material could be used to alert the group that conducted the raid and that U.S. intelligence agencies knew who they were, before the final unclassified material was given to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice.

Rice subsequently only repeated what the CIA and other intel agencies approved before she appeared on 5 TV shows two months ago to explain what the White House knew at the time of her TV appearances.

There was nothing nefarious about what Ambassador Rice said or how the Obama White House had edited the "talking points" presented by Rice to the American public through her multiple appearance on Sunday morning TV political shows. 

Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsay Graham and many in the Republican Party are now left with egg on their faces in their rush to judgement when they didn't know all the facts until Petraeus set the record straight during the Congressional hearings on the Benghazi, Libya attack on September 11, 2012.

CNN REPORTS CIA SAYS EVERYTHING FOX NEWS HAS BEEN REPORTING ON BENGHAZI, LIBYA ATTACK IS FALSE OR A FLAT OUT LIE

DAVID PETRAEUS, who recently resigned at head of the CIA, will testify behind closed doors to a select committee of Congress on Friday on what he discovered happened before and during the attack on U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya.

CNN is reporting in this video that CIA officials claim everything FOX NEWS has been reporting about the Benghazi attack is either false or a flat out lie. 

Republicans are desperately trying to pin what happened on President Obama, but like everything that takes place in a theater of war everything that has been said by Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsay Graham is pure speculation or an attempt to muddy the waters using conspiracy techniques. 

It is very possible nobody will ever know for sure what happened to the four Americans who were killed in Benghazi because "the fog of war" is always guesswork at best. 

The major lesson to be learned from this Republican led dog and pony show is never trust FOX NEWS because they are not a news organization, but a propaganda arm of the Republican Party.

Remember this:  Close to 200 U.S. Marines were killed in Lebanon in 1983 when Ronald Reagan was President and nobody called for an investigation.

Also, over 4,700 young Americans were killed in the Iraq war started with lies by George Bush and Dick Cheney about Saddam Hussein having WMDs and a nuclear bomb and nobody called for an investigation when it was found Saddam Hussein didn't have WMDs or a nuclear bomb.

FORMER GEN PETRAEUS "SEX SCANDAL" EXPANDS TO TOP COMMANDER IN AFGHANISTAN

The scandal which forced former Army Gen. David Petraeus to resign as director of the CIA has expanded and now includes Gen. John Allen who is in charge of U.S. military forces in Afghanistan.

According to this news report and video http://tiny.cc/n8qqnw Gen. Allen sent between 20,000 and 30,000 emails to Tampa socialite Jill Kelly who is married to a surgeon.

Kelly and her husband have their own share of skeletons in their closet and owe millions to a bank in Tampa Florida.

Fox News, as would be expected, is trying to pin the whole mess on President Obama even though Obama was not told about Petraeus until two days after the election when he received the resignation lettter from Petraeus. 

Gen. Allen, at this writing, claims there was no romantic involvement with Jill Kelly inspite of the fact he sent her upwards of 30,000 emails. 

We still have 68,000 troops in Afghanistan and one can only imagine what they are thinking as this story unfolds about their former commander, Gen. David Petraeus, and the current commander Gen. John Allen.
