In  1941, I was eleven years old and started a scrapbook about World War II.  I recently donated the scrapbook to the Pritzker Military Library in Chicago.

CPL. CONNER LOWRY, a United States Marines lived right behind our house in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. He was killed in Afghanistan last week.

The burning of the Quran in Afghanistan has sparked violent protests and two US soldiers were killed Thursday by an angry Afghan soldier.
