PTSD: A YOUNG GIRL TALKS ABOUT HER BROTHER'S PTSD

The young girl in this video talks about what it was like when her brother returned from Iraq.

She describes how he would pace around at night and how he would say he was OK, but she and the family knew things were not right with him.

She says there are thousands of cases like her brother. Young men who return from Iraq and deny they are suffering from PTSD.

According to her, the treatment for PTSD is a very long process because you are dealing with the brain.

SMALL TOWN USA--WEST FRANKFORT, ILL. WELCOMES SOLDIERS HOME FROM AFGHANISTAN (GREAT VIDEO)

Today was a very humbling day for me. I spent the day in small town U.S.A. to await the arrival of A Company 2-130 IN coming home from Afghanistan.

We were there to greet my wife's nephew. But we were greeted by so much more than words can say. From the moment we started to get close to this town (West Frankfort, IL.) I could tell that this would be a very emotional experience.

It all started out on the highway with flags on the overpasses. When we drove down this towns main street I was touched to say the least. Business after business had welcome home Soldiers in their windows, on their signs to the likes I have never seen before. This whole town knew just what was going to happen this day and they were all proud.

Excited Moms, Dads, Wifes, Girlfriends, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Families, and people who didn't even have anyone coming home were all there and the looks on their faces was so special that it's hard to discribe. As they got closer to home people just could not seem to stand still. People from resturants would call and say they just pass by here. Then in the distance you could see the lights and here the sirens letting everyone know that here we come. The whole town seemed buzz at this point. It was like being at a baseball game when they do the wave. As their buses moved down the street towards us you could her the cheers getting loader as they got closer. Unbelievable !!!

They finally made their way into the local high school gym to cheers like you have never heard before. How proud were all those family and friends at that moment. To sum this day up I must say it was one highlights of my life. I highly suggest that even you don't have someone coming home from war and you know about it you most experience this for yourself. GO, get caught up in all the emotions.

You won't be sorry you did. Look at the faces, especially those of the children waiting for dad's or brothers. I promise you will walk away just as proud as those families and friends.

PURPLE HEART'S FINAL BEAT: A SOLDIER SUICIDE STORY

Never in my 80 years on this planet have I seen a country and mainstream media so totally disinterested in what is happening to our brave young Americans who are going to Iraq and Afghanistan to supposedly fight for our freedom.

Thousands come with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and seldom get the proper treatment and many of them end up taking their lives.

This video is just such a story.

I can no longer watch cable news because all it is a bunch of whiners and moaners who never served a day in the military talking about politics as if this was the most important story of the day.

Ask yourself this question. When was the last time you saw anything on TV about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? When have you seen a story about our wounded vets returning with severe cases of PTSD?

Probably never.

Instead, we have a bunch of blabbermouths (Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Neil Cavuto, Joe Scarborough and Rush Limbaugh) who were too chicken to serve in the military prattling on and on over petty differences in politics while two wars are raging 8,000 miles away with close to 300,000 young Americans deployed to the war zones.

The media should be ashamed of themselves.

That is why I started this blog two years ago and now I average over 1,000 "hits" a day and in just two years over 400,000 REAL AMERICANS have taken the time to log on my blog.

The sad story of what is happening to our young veterans is summed up in this remarkable and touching video.

This is what the media should be reporting on instead of their childish ranting about politics.

PTSD: FALLEN SOLDIER LOST TO SUICIDE

This is another video of Spc. Jason Cooper, who served with the Army in Iraq from March '04 to March '05, came home and committed suicide a week after he was home.

Spc. Cooper suffered from PTSD, the silent killer for many war veterans.

Washington (CNN) -- The Pentagon will no longer shape the U.S. military to fight two major conventional wars at once, but rather prepare for numerous conflicts and not all in the same style, according to a draft of a new strategic outlook the Pentagon is announcing on Monday.

The new mantra for military planners will replace the almost 25-year-old combat planning style of fighting and winning two major conventional wars in two different locations in favor of a fighting force that is capable of protecting U.S. interests around the world from a range of threats, from terrorism to cyber attacks.

The change will be addressed in the 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review, a congressionally mandated document that looks at future threats and the military's requirements to mitigate them.

"It is no longer appropriate to speak of major regional conflicts as the sole or even primary template for sizing, shaping or evaluating U.S. forces," according to a draft first obtained by Inside Defense.

The review will come on the same day the Pentagon presents its 2011 budget.
According to Pentagon officials, Defense Secretary Robert Gates will be asking for $708 billion, including funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- $44 billion more the 2010 budget of $664 billion.
