I have been checking this out and can't find any more specifics about this. The WaPo article says the NATO death were "in the south" so immediately I though Helmand.
Can't find anything.
Anyway I get the RSS feed to Freedom Remembered which is an ongoing update of the casualties among our troops -- there have been three U.S. casualties in Helmand over Dec. 2 and Dec. 3, one in combat operations and two attacked by IED. Names and pictures.
I haven't read anything about Helmand in the news though.
You don't need to post this reply -- just wanted to say I feel like I'm losing my mind when I have to get info about the war from casualty lists.
